Since joining Enterprises Solutions USA on August 29, 2017, Shannon Henderson has exemplified the values of dedication and perseverance. As a Day Custodian at the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), the largest Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) service center for aircraft, engines, and aeronautical components on the East Coast, Shannon’s contributions have played a vital role in supporting the U.S. Navy Fleet’s operational success.
When Shannon first began her journey, she faced deeply rooted social anxieties and insecurities related to her disability. She was initially quiet and reserved, but even then, her commitment to her job was undeniable. Shannon consistently went above and beyond her daily duties, showing genuine care for her co-workers and the building tenants she served. Over time, under the guidance of Enterprises Solutions USA’ leadership, Shannon began to thrive.
Through redirection and a transformative approach to learning, Shannon steadily built her confidence and developed new skills while mastering her job assignments. After five years of dedicated service, her hard work paid off—she was promoted to Day Shift Custodial Supervisor in 2022. In her new role, Shannon now oversees a team of seven employees with disabilities and manages custodial services across twelve buildings, impacting the work environments of more than 3,000 government and military personnel.
Shannon’s leadership has fostered a clean and sanitary work environment for the artisans and technicians involved in aircraft maintenance and repair, directly contributing to the success of the operations at FRCSE. Her ability to adapt seamlessly into her supervisory role reflects her natural leadership qualities, and her dedication to supporting her team members has created a collaborative and productive work atmosphere.
Gladys Brazil, Project Manager at Enterprises Solutions USA, speaks highly of Shannon’s exceptional work ethic, stating, “In my 23 years of service, I’ve never seen an employee who exudes such dedication and tenacity.” Shannon’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, proving that individuals with disabilities possess invaluable potential when allowed to shine.
Through the AbilityOne Program, Shannon has achieved a remarkable level of independence. She now lives in her apartment with her 12-year-old daughter, fully supporting her household financially. From someone who once struggled with insecurity and self-doubt, Shannon has transformed into a confident leader, inspiring those around her to recognize their capabilities and push beyond the boundaries of perceived limitations.
Shannon Henderson embodies the mission of Enterprises Solutions USA to promote the “Power of People and Possibilities” for individuals living with disabilities. Her journey of growth and leadership serves as an inspiration to all, demonstrating that with determination and support, anyone can achieve great things.
